One Night 4 MBA Students Were drinking Till Late Night and didn't study for

the test which was scheduled for the next day.In the morning they thought

of a plan. They made themselves look as dirty and weird as they could with

grease and dirt. They then went up to the dean and said that they had gone

out to a wedding last night and on their return the tyre of their car burst

and they had to push the car all the way back and that they were in no

condition to appear for the test. So the dean said they can have the retest

after 3 days. They said they will be ready by that time. On the third day

condition test. All four were required to sit in separate classrooms for

Speaking to CyberMedia News, TV Ramachandran, director general, COAI, said that COAI and Association of Unified Telecom Service Providers of India (AUSPI) has not sought for any extension on the deadline. There have been recent reports of COAI and AUSPI seeking extension on the deadline for the subscriber verification process. “We have completed the verification process within the time frame and have not sought for any extension from the government. Almost all the subscribers have attained their numbers in the last 10 months time being granted for verification and the numbers are good,” he informed. Stating on disconnection of some of the accounts of unverified subscribers, Ramachandran appealed to all the subscribers, who have not been verified, to cooperate with the industry and complete the necessary formalities. Countries like South Africa, Malaysia and Singapore where the government has instructed to carry out verification of the subscriber base has been granted 12 to 36months for verification. South Africa has been offered 36 months to complete the subscribers verification process and in Malaysia and Singapore a year. The verified status is encouraging but he denied revealing the numbers. “There cannot be 100 per cent fool proof mechanism in any case, but the industry has done its best to make this move successful,” Ramachandran added. However, sources in the industry informed that on the last day of the verification many subscriber accounts could freeze and the numbers could be more than 10 million. Most of the operators are mum on the re-verification status. Darryl Green, CEO, Tata Teleservices during recent interaction with CyberMedia News informed that the operator has completed 99 per cent of verification by mid-March. Of the 93 per cent pre-paid segment and 7 per cent of the post-paid segment the company claims to have verified almost all its customer base. “We strictly follow the guidelines laid by the government and have verified our subscribers till now,” Green informed. Industry sources informed that the two telecom PSUs, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) are yet to verify more than 30 per cent of its subscriber base. “It seems that most of the subscribers who failed to receive the re-verification call will face disconnection as the department has refused to extend the deadline. It will be a loss for the operators who failed to meet the deadline,” the source added. DoT had strictly instructed operator to complete the re-verification by March 31. Failure of operators to verify would mean disconnection of the mobile numbers or the operator will face a penalty of Rs 1,000 for each unverified subscriber. DoT took up the subscriber verification issue after it found out that most of the operators are offering mobile connections without proper documentation and verification. A press release states that Denmark’s outstanding levels of networked readiness have to do with the country’s regulatory environment, coupled with a clear government leadership and vision in leveraging ICT for growth and promoting ICT penetration and usage. Asian tigers India and China fared badly compared to last year. Both countries showed a downward trend; with India four positions down to 44th while China did worse falling nine positions down to 59th. The report noted that notwithstanding some specific clusters of ICT excellence in these countries, their overall score in leveraging ICT for increased development appeared to be particularly hindered by weak infrastructure, with a very low level of individual ICT usage for India and of individual and business readiness and usage for China. The US dropped six places to 7th this year, mainly due to relative deterioration of the political and regulatory environment, said the report. However, the country maintained its primacy in innovation, driven by one of the world’s best tertiary education systems and high degree of cooperation with the industry as well as efficient market environment. “Leveraging ICT is becoming an essential instrument for countries and national stakeholders to ensure continued prosperity for their people. Nordic countries have shown how an early focus on education, innovation and promotion of ICT penetration and diffusion is a winning strategy for increased networked readiness and competitiveness,” Irene Mia, senior economist of the Global Competitiveness Network at the World Economic Forum and co-editor of the Report “Denmark, in particular, has benefited from effective government e-leadership, reflected in early liberalization of the telecommunications sector, a first-rate regulatory framework and large availability of e-government services," he added. And it is making the worst effect on kid’s mind…

 

Just switch off the TV for a week & try to do something exciting work / play some sport / go for outing / visiting friend’s /relative’s home etc… & see the effect of this in the next week.
