He can be reached at skukreja@investitude.co.in RBI on March 11 issued a Circular to the authorised commercial banks to start observing the rules and regulations of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana as per the Government of India Notification dated December 2, 2014. This circular has been marked to the Chairman & Managing Directors (CMDs) and Managing Directors (MDs) of some of the commercial banks operating in India. These banks include most of the public sector banks, including State Bank of India (SBI), Bank of Baroda (BoB) and Punjab National Bank (PNB) and a few private sector banks also, including Axis Bank and ICICI Bank. RBI has instructed these banks to approach Central Account Section, Reserve Bank of India, Nagpur for necessary arrangements to report Sukanya Samriddhi Account transactions with immediate effect. I think it means the RBI wants these banks to start opening accounts under this scheme without any further delays and the subscribers will not have to wait more to open their accounts. They can now approach these authorised banks to open an account. Though it is still not clear if only these banks would act as the agency banks to open accounts under this scheme or some other banks would also join in, but it seems the following 28 banks would definitely be among all those banks authorised to open Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts (SSA). Reaction vs. Response
I was having a coffee at a restaurant, Suddenly, a cockroach flew from somewhere and sat on a lady. She started screaming out of fear. With panic stricken face and trembling voice, she started doing jumping, with both her hands desperately trying to get rid of the cockroach. Her reaction was contagious, as everyone in her group got cranky to what was happening. The lady finally managed to push the cockroach to another lady in the group. Now, it was the turn of the other lady in the group to continue the drama. The waiter rushed forward to their rescue. In the relay of throwing, the cockroach next fell upon the waiter. The waiter stood firm, composed himself and observed the behavior of the cockroach on his shirt. When he was confident enough, he grabbed and threw it out with his fingers.
Sipping my coffee and watching the amusement, the antenna of my mind picked up a few thoughts and started wondering, was the cockroach responsible for their histrionic behavior? If so, then why was the waiter not disturbed? He handled it near to perfection, without any chaos. It is not the cockroach, but the inability of the ladies to handle the disturbance caused by the cockroach that disturbed the ladies.
I realized even in my case then , it is not the shouting of my father or my boss that disturbs me, but its my inability to handle the disturbances caused by their shouting that disturbs me.
It's not the traffic jams on the road that disturbs me, but my inability to handle the disturbance caused by the traffic jam that disturbs me.
More than the problem, it's my reaction to the problem that hurts me.
Lessons learnt from the story:
I understood, I should not react in life. I should always respond.
The women reacted, whereas the waiter responded.
Reactions are always instinctive whereas responses are always intellectual...

Imagine there is a bank, which credits your account each morning with Rs 86,400, carries over no balance from day to day, allows you to keep no cash balance, and every evening cancels whatever part of the amount you had failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out every pence, of course!
Well, everyone has such a bank. Its name is Time.
Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the records of the day. If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours.
There is no going back. There is no drawing against the "tomorrow."
Therefore, there is never not enough time or too much time. Time management is decided by us alone and nobody else. It is never the case of us not having enough time to do things, but the case of whether we want to do it.

China's Tianhe-2 Stays on Top as the World's No.1 Supercomputer

India accounts for 12 systems in the TOP500 list of the world’s most powerful supercomputers with its topmost entry claiming the 44th rank.
Tianhe-2, a supercomputer developed by China’s National University of Defense Technology, retained its position as the world’s No. 1 system with a performance of 33.86 petaflop/s (quadrillions of calculations per second) on the Linpack benchmark, according to the 42nd edition of the twice-yearly TOP500 list of the world’s most powerful supercomputers.
Titan, a Cray XK7 system installed at the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Oak Ridge National Laboratory, remains the No. 2 system. It achieved 17.59 Pflop/s on the Linpack benchmark. Titan is one of the most energy efficient systems on the list consuming a total of 8.21 MW and delivering 2.143 gigaflops/W.
The new entry in the TOP10 is at No. 6 –Piz Daint, a Cray XC30 system installed at the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS) in Lugano, Switzerland and now the most powerful system in Europe. Piz Daint achieved 6.27 Pflop/s on the Linpack benchmark. Piz Daint is also the most energy efficient system in the TOP10 consuming a total of 2.33 MW and delivering 2.7 Gflops/W.
The total combined performance of all 500 systems on the list is 250 Pflop/s. Half of the total performance is achieved by the top 17 systems on the list, with the other half of total performance spread among the remaining 483 systems.
In all, there are 31 systems with performance greater than a petaflop/s on the list, an increase of five compared to the June 2013 list. Intel continues to provide the processors for the largest share (82.4 percent) of TOP500 systems. The number of systems installed in China has now stabilized at 63, compared with 65 on the last list. China occupies the 2nd position as a user of HPC, behind the U.S. but ahead of Japan, UK, France, and Germany. Due to Tianhe-2, China this year also took the No. 2 position in the performance share, topping Japan.
The U.S. is clearly the leading consumer of HPC systems with 265 of the 500 systems (253 last time). The European share (102 systems compared to 112 last time) is still lower than the Asian share (115 systems, down from 118 last time). Dominant countries in Asia are China with 63 systems (down from 65) and Japan with 28 systems (down from 30). In Europe, UK, France, and Germany, are almost equal with 23, 22, and 20 respectively.
India accounts for 12 systems on the list with its topmost entry - iDataPlex DX360M4, Xeon E5-2670 8C 2.600GHz, Infiniband FDR manufactured by IBM with 38,016 cores and a Linpack Performance (Rmax) of 719.2 TFlop/s – coming in at number 44 slipping from the 36th spot that it occupied in the June 2013 list.
The Top 500 list is compiled by supercomputing experts at the University of Mannheim, Germany; the University of Tennessee, Knoxville; and the Department of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
