Crucial information with regard to heavy rainfall this monsoon:
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) Disaster Management Cell (DMC) has prepared a list for days to be careful in, this monsoon.
Sea tides on these days are expected to reach at least 4.6 metres. So if thundershowers fall at the same time, one can expect heavy flooding. The expected tide levels have been given below by the Met Department, Mumbai.

The above days could be the worst days, with the tide expected to touch 4.71 metres. In case of heavy showers during the danger days, rainwater would not drain away as seawater would gush into drains.
A DMC official said, "If there is 20 mm of rain for an hour during high tide, it would cause flooding."
Heavy rains during high tides could paralyse the city with floods.
